Make it Monday - Candle Holder

This week I did my first Gonis presentation, at my Mum's in England. It went well. It wasn't perfect but considering how much translation and use of the exchange rate was involved, I was really pleased.

We made this candle holder for my Mum as a hostess gift. It showed off different techniques and four Gonis products including the candle holder, the crystal which is painted around the inside using the permanent glue, the temporary glue, used to attach the ribbon, and the deco pointer used to decorate the ribbon.

I was really pleased with the finished item and will be doing it again.

Make it Monday - Crochet Bunny Hat

With this wintry weather dragging on I made another wooly hat as a child's birthday present. Following the success of the pink owl, I hit on this bunny design which fits twice as well with Easter creeping up on us.

The project was fine for a beginner like me and would have been fairly quick had I not run out of wool... And while it is terrible to work with, I love the effect of the fluffy white wool, especially with this tail.

So cute and fun!

Make it Monday - Crochet Owl Hat

This weekend I got stuck into my new crochet book and made this cute hat for a little girl's birthday.

It was quick, easy and fun, I'm enjoying crochet more and more and I can't wait to try another new project.

The plaits are especially cute.

Make it Monday - Stylish top

I recently made this top for my Mum's birthday. I found the instructions in Mollie Makes and thought it would be suitable for work or social.

I chose a black and white fabric with a nice pattern as it will go with lots.

And she liked it! It needs a small alteration but that's almost to be expected without fittings in between.

New techniques for me include using bias binding and making teeny tiny hems.

This is the first top I've made for an adult and I really enjoyed it. I'm now working on a dress.

Make it Monday - Art Therapy

It's been a quiet craft week around here. I did receive a crafty Christmas gift in the form of this Anti-stress colouring book and I finished page one already! It's good that I can do it one handed, I'll see if it reduces stress...

Make it Monday - Spiral Scarf

This is one of the few 'big projects' I've completed from my knitting course since I finally got caught up on the blanket patches thanks to maternity leave.

I loved the spiral effect and the colours and the whole thing was much more simple than it looked, it just took longer than I'm used to.

I'm hoping it will make a nice Christmas gift. I'm also hoping to make a second one soon as I have enough wool left!
