Spring Photo Walk!

At the weekend it seemed that Spring arrived early.  We took advantage of the amazing weather and temperatures to have a wander with our cameras.
I managed to get some snaps of Nico to make sure he is well represented in this month's project life spread.
The sunshine seemed to bring lots of people out of doors and we saw lots of people out on the bikes or by the lake.
It was even warm enough for summer clothes and no coat!!  Love this bump photo.  Big contrast to last weekend's weather!
Alone the blue skies make me feel more inspired and positive!
Nature is finally waking up after the winter.  I can't believe that it is almost exactly a year since my hen weekend when we were knee deep in snow!
Taking some snaps of my own.
The ducks are out napping in force - this is Spring for me.
I love that we live so near the green and the water.  Hope to make more of that this summer.

Buesum

We spent this weekend in Buesum on the north coast of Germany.  I got Nico a voucher for a wellness weekend for Christmas and we finally managed to book it.
We drove up on Saturday morning and after checking in we headed straight to the spa.  It was very relaxing - we enjoyed the steam room and relaxing with our books on the loungers.  The only disappointment was the lack of a pool even though I am convinced I saw one somewhere on the website.  The main thing is that we came out relaxed.
We had our evening meal in the hotel and got an early night after a long, tiring day.  We were up bright and early on Sunday for a lovely breakfast in the hotel followed by a walk around the town and onto the beach.  The weather wasn't amazing but we enjoyed the break and made the most of it.
It was great for me to see somewhere new in Germany and we were both happy to have been away and be more relaxed.

Recipe: Cheese Scones

At the weekend I cracked out the gluten free cookbook again and made these cheese scones.  I was a little worried about the texture but they tasted nice and went really well with some creamy mushrooms that Nico made.

You can find the recipe here.  I would recommend using more seasoning and cheese.  To be fair, we can't get cheddar here so it may have tasted different because of that but we still had a fairly strong hard cheese.

I'm loving baking at the weekends again!

BBQ time!

On Saturday, we had some friends over for my birthday and Nico got out his new barbecue to make us some delicious chimi churi steak and roast potatoes to go with his homemade tzatziki.  It was delicious!!

I love this photo of him on the balcony, grilling away because the heart says it all - my love, embracing his love of cooking.  It was a fantastic weekend.

A song for the weekend...

In my quest for more classic films, I inadvertently bought the remake of Footloose.  We watched it last weekend and surprisingly - I really loved it!  The music is fantastic.
