Last weekend, I attended my first Easter bonfire. Apparently, bonfires are the done thing in Germany at Easter, I guess it makes up for not having Bonfire Night. The main difference at a German bonfire is the complete lack of health and safety compared to England. The kids were carrying around sticks that they had set alight in the fire and waving them about. Every so often one of the on site firemen would run over stomp it out and tell them off until they did it again five minutes later. We didn't stay too long but it was a great experience and a new side to Huchting!
