Good morning! Well, the nice weather is trying to break through here so let's keep our fingers crossed. It's been another nice relaxing week here. We spent most of it in the country with Nico's family. We jogged once there and spent most of the time cooking, reading and catching up with family. We got Pete all settled in and it's very strange being in the flat without him now. Not for long though...
Other highlights of the week include my best friend giving birth to a baby girl on Sunday morning! Welcome to the world little Isla Grace. Can't wait for cuddles when we get back to England next week!
My Gran has also got herself a place in sheltered accommodation. She's very happy about this and moves while we're back so I'm glad that we'll be there to help and to see the old place one more time - she's been there 33 years!
As we didn't get as much exercise in this week and ate like kings all week, it's not good news on the scales. I'm planning to head back to Weightwatchers meetings in September when I'm back in a routine. I just need the motivation of getting on those scales more publicly each week. Hopefully the German literature will help as it's more aimed at the products available here.
I'm also still ploughing through Moby Dick. I'm hoping to finish it before we go away on Monday but it's been harder than I thought. I think it's possibly the worst book I've read but I'm not a quitter...maybe the secret to why it's such a classic comes on the last pages! More on that later.
