The Saturday Update

What a week!  It has flown by in a whirl of Christmas films, trips and preparation for our visit to England.

After our lazy day on Sunday, Monday was a normal work day with a trip to the hairdressers thrown in for good measure.  It also started to get a little warmer again and rain instead of snow.

On Tuesday we took our class ice skating as I mentioned yesterday.  That was a different kind of adventure.  In the evening we had our work Christmas party at a little, well hidden restaurant in Bremen.  Unfortunately it was an Italian set menu which I couldn't eat half of due to being gluten free.  However, it was nice to be with colleagues in a more social setting and I'm way up on the active points this week after more than seven hours on the bike!

Wednesday was another round of Merry Christmas Mr Bean and Polar Express...  I love teaching English - there are always easy fun things to do at Christmas.

Thursday was another full day as I had work in the morning with the last of my regular classes and then my Christmas meeting with my adult classes at the Christmas market in the evening.  Unfortunately only three students out of the whole two groups turned up but it was nice to chat with a smaller group and they got more out of it too I think.

Yesterday was our final day at school of course.  I was completely overwhelmed by my amazing colleague and our lovely class who had planned an engagement surprise for me with candles, flowers, chocolates and the all important Michael Buble on the whiteboard!!  I was practically crying, in a good way.  We also received the lovely Christmas present of spices from the management team at work - I got lemon pepper so looking forward to a nice fish dish after Christmas.  In the afternoon, I got all packed and sorted while Nico was at work and printed off our boarding passes ready for our flight this morning!
