Apart from how fast it has disappeared, this week has been a lovely end to the holidays. We kicked it off with a visit to Nico's parents for New Year's Eve and indulged in the German traditions, as I have already posted. The first couple of days of the year were spent visiting Nico's family which was really nice.
On Wednesday we headed back to Bremen with Pete. He was not amused to be back but he's settled in now. That pretty much got things back to normal for us here. Thursday was a nice relaxing day - we got things straightened up around the flat and enjoyed a day in, especially given the miserable weather of the moment.
Friday was a really nice day as we headed to Ed and Loreto's in Thedinghausen for a lovely dinner and two long games of Catan. We played as couples as there weren't enough pieces for six this time but I enjoyed that more and we won twice! Really looking forward to the next games night with the extension packs.
This weekend we have a couple of little jobs to do and then we are just relaxing before it all kicks off again next week. I'm feeling ready for it now, having set my goals for the year. I'm extra excited about picking out invitations at the craft shop - that will be next weekend's project I think but it's starting to all come together now!
