As expected, after just three days back at work, it feels like we were never off... that said, we did have a lovely end to the holidays with Easter brunch with Nico's family, my birthday and a quiet couple of days before the return to chaos.
Easter brunch and catching up with Nico's family for the first time since Christmas was nice in itself, but the highlight of last Sunday for me was seeing the venue for our wedding for the first time ever and revisiting the church for the first time since we got engaged and decided to marry there. It was very emotional and I love both settings. The reception venue is by a watermill on a beautiful lake and I can't wait to get some wonderful photographs there on the big day. It made it that bit more real again!
I was spoilt as usual for my birthday. Nico bought me a globe. I have always wanted one and amazingly, he remembers these things and got me a lovely, colourful, light up globe. There'll be pictures soon. I also got some lovely jewellery, a pamper kit, lots of money and I'm very much looking forward to seeing Michael Buble in concert this Summer! Something else to look forward to!! Nico took me for a lovely lunch and walk in the park and all in all, we had a wonderful day.
Work has been the same as ever. The kids were energetic after all that time off, especially year nine who I hadn't seen for almost six weeks as they had work experience too. It was great to get back into a routine though. With the days getting lighter, the cycle to school is becoming more of a pleasure than a chore again and I'm feeling very positive all round at the moment.
On Friday I had lunch with the lovely Loreto, it was great to catch up and she also gave me her photos from the hen night so I will be posting about that next week. I can't believe it was only two weeks ago!!
Tonight we are having a BBQ for my birthday with some friends. So today is all about gardening and cleaning and cooking - very domestic, I know! Then we'll chill out before a full week back at work. Have a good one!
