As per my March goals, I got started today and planted some basil. Well I say planted...here are some things I learned during the process:
- Basil seeds have to be on top of the soil so that they get lots of light.
- There's more than one kind of soil (not just clay, sandy etc) and you should use a specific type for planting seeds.
- I can avoid overwatering by using a spray bottle to spray water onto the seeds.
- Our nursery is filling up very quickly.
I'll let you know how the seedlings get on. I love fresh basil in salads or pasta dishes in Summer so I hope they grow well.
