Emma

Yesterday I finally finished reading Jane Austin's Emma.  I originally started reading this last year but I was barely getting through ten pages a day at that time and found the style really difficult to follow so I did something which I hate and gave up.  This was the main reason that I put it on my list of 30.  I've never not finished a book and I hate not persevering, usually it is worth it and it proved so this time too.  I picked the book up again a few weeks ago and managed at least 25 pages per day.  Once I got into it again, I could follow the style more easily and was really engaged in the story.  I love the way things were back then.  It's almost like a different world but you still have the same romance, bitchiness and family ties.  It's really a wonderful story and I'm thoroughly looking forward to the next from her collection after a couple of weeks off.  I'd recommend Jane Austin to anyone.
