My first project in the new house was this kitchen blind. I had planned a yellow and green theme but I found this material very Christmassy and I like the effect.
It was quick and simple - I cut the material to fit the space, ran a hem up both sides, sewed along the long edge with right sides facing, and finally turned it the right way around and closed the sides, leaving 5cm open on each side for the rod.
I've got a lovely green material lined up for another one in Spring but may have to find a pattern or idea that still looks good on both sides but lets more light in, we'll see.
