The late burst of lovely weather in September / October prolonged the summer a little bit for us here and brought with it some nice reminders of where we live. As well as spotting hedgehogs and red squirrels recently we had a red woodpecker just like this one on our balcony last weekend!
I would have taken a photo but didn't want to move for fear of scaring it away. It was amazing.
